Irene Dixon of Redstar passed away Sunday, April 9, 2017 at Isom, Kentucky. Irene was the daughter of Henry and Minerva Kimbley. She was born December 15, 1921 being 95 years, 3 months, and 25 days of age at the time of her passing. Surviving are her daughters: Wilma (Lee) Pridemore of Isom, Iva Mae Webb of Redstar; 2 sisters: Laura Mae Adams of Jeremiah and Isabelle Sturgill of Whitesburg; 6 grandchildren: Gary (Becky) Pridemore, Greg (Glenna) Pridemore, Anthony (Crystal) Grey, James (Susie) Dixon, Phillip (Angela) Dixon, Denise (Jack) Benge; 13 great grandchildren, 21 great great grandchildren. Irene was preceded in death by her husband: Edgar Dixon, sons: Billy C. Dixon and Henry E. Dixon; daughter: Essie Combs and granddaughter: Traci (Pridemore) Madden; 3 sisters and 2 brothers. Irene was a member of the Blackey Mt. Oliver Old Regular Baptist Church. Visitation will be Monday, April 10, 2017 at the Blackey Mt. Olivet Church. Funeral: 11:00 O'clock A.M. Tuesday at the Mt. Olivet Old Regular Baptist Church with Elwood Cornett, Toby Breeding, Danny Dixon, and James Caudill officiating. Singing by Gillis Reedy. Burial will follow at the Dixon Family Cemetery at Redstar, Kentucky.
