Luther Hall, 78, of Thornton passed away Tuesday, June 20, 2017 at the Whitesburg Appalachian Regional Healthcare Center. Luther was the son of the late Alex and Ruby Sergent Hall. Surviving is 4 sons: Dwayne Hall of Ohio, Luther Hall of Ohio, Timothy Hall of Thornton, and Dwight Jerrell of Floyd County; 3 daughters: Cynthia Darlene Wells of Thornton, Leslie Messer of West Virginia, and Verlina Jerrell of Ohio; 1 brother: James "Bill" Hall of Thornton; 2 sisters: Doris Lucas of Oberlin, Ohio and Donna Burton of Amherst, Ohio; 23 grandchildren: 25 great grandchildren. Luther was preceded in death by 1 son: Duane Hall; 1 daughter: Tammy Hall Adams; 1 brother: Glenn Hall; 1 sister: Pauline Farley; 1 grandson: Dustin Adams. Funeral: 11:00 O'clock A.M. Thursday, June 22, 2017 at the Letcher Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation: 6:00 P.M. Wednesday at the Letcher Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in the Hall Family Cemetery at Thornton, Kentucky.
