Myrtle Maggard, 91, of Oven Fork, (resident of Letcher Manor since May 27, 2015), went home to be with the Lord on Friday, July 7, 2017 at the Letcher Manor Nursing Home, Whitesburg, KY. Myrtle was born May 21, 1926 to the late Enoch Maggard and Mattie Boggs Maggard at Oven Fork, Kentcky. Making her stay here on earth 91 years, 1 month, and 16 days. She was baptized at Cram Creek Church and joined Truth Ministries on November 7, 2004. She is survived by seven nieces and nephews: Thelma Maggard (Kester) Halcomb, Jr., Eolia, Enoch Wayne (Katie) Maggard, Rutledge, Tennessee, Brenda Maggard Collier, Oven Fork, Barbara Maggard (Larry) Crabtree, Rutledge, Tennessee; Darrell (Judy) Caudill, Oven Fork, Rhonda Caudill (Mark) Owens, Sassafras, Ky, Wanda Caudill (Mike) Wilson, Morristown, Tennessee. Preceded in death by one nephew: Harrell Caudill of Shelbiana, Kentucky. Harrell is survived by his wife Jill Caudill. She was also preceded in death by two brothers and their spouses: Estill (Mae) Maggard, Lester (Sarah) Maggard all of Oven Fork, Kentucky; three sisters and spouses: Ocie Maggard (Gus) Raleigh, Geneva Maggard (Alvin) Caudill, Goldia Maggard all of Oven Fork, Kentucky. Survived by great nieces and nephews: Shelley, Scottie, Gilbert, Brian, Jason, Jessica Lynn, Danielle, Allison, Whitley, Mark Landon, Michael. Preceded in death by great nephew Kelly Caudill; great great nieces and nephews: Blake, Jake, Evan, Imma, Issabella, Chase, Lee, Allisa, Jacob, Dylan, Megan, Emily, Caleb, Gavin, Chance, Marah, Myla.; great great great nieces and nephew: Gracie, Noah, Mahayla. She leaves a host of other friends and relatives. Myrtle sold Blair Products walking from house to house for about 30 years. She also babysat for many people in the community including her own nieces and nephews and their families. Myrtle loved to sit on her front porch and read, work puzzles, grow flowers, and sew. She also enjoyed walking and riding her stationary bike for daily exercise. Funeral: 2:00 O'clock P.M. Sunday, July 9, 2017 at the Letcher Funeral Home Chapel with Mike Wilson officiating. Visitation: 6:00 P.M. Saturday at the Letcher Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in the Boggs Cemetery at Oven Fork, Kentucky.
