Robert Howard McElroy

Robert "Bob" Howard McElroy of Millstone, Kentucky died Saturday, June 3, 2017. He was born on December 22, 1939 in Millstone and died of natural causes. His parents were James & Ethel McElroy.  His siblings predeceased were Bud McElroy, Opal Mason, Pauline Mason, Dorothy Jean Johnson, and Mary Evelyn Bentley. Survived by siblings Larry McElroy, Don McElroy, Emit McElroy, Brenda Fields, and Net Cook. As well as his cousin Bill Johnson. Bob was married to Harriette McElroy for 60 years. They had 3 children, 6 grand children, 5 step grand children, 10 great grand children, and 5 step great grand children. His oldest son, Robert "Tony" Anthony, married to Donna had 5 children; Brandon Duebbe, Amanda Duebbe, Bonnie Rowe, Randy Duebbe, and Shianne Duebbe.  His daughter, Sherry Lynne, married to Wade Lord has 3 children; Rebekah Lynne Marie, Wesley Jay, and Kathleen Victoria. And his youngest son, Brooke Browning, married to Lynn has 3 children; Michael Brooke Ryan, Tiffani Leanne, and Charles Robert Browning. Bob retired from Pipe-fitters Local 211 in Houston, TX. Bob and Harriette lived in Texas for 26 years, where he enjoyed spending time with his family. Bob lived life the way he wanted. He always said "You only go home when you got no where else to go".  Kentucky was "home" for Bob. He had a good sense of humor and made his family feel loved. There will be a viewing on Wednesday, June 7th at Letcher Funeral Home, 102 Main St., Whitesburg, KY 41858. Family viewing from 5-6pm. Open viewing at 6pm to the public. The funeral service will be held graveside at Thornton Cemetery on Thursday, June 8th at 10am. A gratitude of thanks goes out to Charlene McElroy and Doris Perry for their love and care. Bob was prideful but grateful for the 2 of you.
