Shelby Dean Akemon, 63, of Hallie passed away Sunday, May 14, 2017 at his residence. Shelby was the son of the late Carlo and Mandy Cornett Akemon. Surviving is his wife: Gloria Jean Halcomb Akemon; 2 sons: Shelby Akemon Jr. and Bobby Michael Akemon both of Cornettsville; 1 sister: Ruth Gibson of Premium; 3 grandchildren: William Shelby Akemon, Corney Michelle Akemon, and Clayton Michael Akemon; 3 great grandchildren: Jaydon Shelby , William Kaydon, and Mason Tyler Cole. Shelby was preceded in death by 2 daughters: Amanda Carol Akemon and Andrea Jean Akemon; 5 brothers: Henry Akemon, Hillard Akemon, Frank Akemon, Delbert Akemon, and Wayne Akemon; 2 sisters: Marie Price and Celia Akemon. Funeral: 11:00 O'clock A.M. Tuesday, May 16, 2017 at the Letcher Funeral Home Chapel with Glen Cornett, Wayne Caudill, Clifford Gilbert, and Denny Amburgey officiating. Visitation: 6:00 P.M. Monday at the Letcher Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in the Akemon Family Cemetery at Hallie, Kentucky.
