Tommy Harris Smith, 77, of Jeremiah passed away Saturday Night, August 12, 2017 at the Pikeville Medical Center. Tommy was the son of the late Dee and Ethel Whitaker Smith. Surviving is 1 son: Dr. Whitaker Michael Smith and wife Lauren of Seymour, Tennessee; 1 brother: Roy Kenon Smith of Wheelersburg, Ohio; 2 sisters: Mary Joe Blair of Jeremiah and Anna Lou Blair and husband Kenneth of Lexington; 2 grandchildren: Savannah Smith and Elliott Smith both of Kingsport, Tennessee along with a host of nieces and nephews. Tommy was preceded in death by 3 brothers: James Richmond Smith, John Welch Smith, William Douglas Smith; 1 sister: Lillie Moss Hale. Funeral: 11:00 O'clock A.M. Wednesday, August 16, 2017 at the Letcher Independent Baptist Church with Duane Beachy and Bill Jones officiating. Visitation: 6:00 P.M. Tuesday at the Letcher Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in the Smith Cemetery at Jeremiah, Kentucky.
