Viola June CaudillMarch 28, 1921 ~ August 1, 2017 (age 96)
Viola June Maggard Caudill was born on March 28, 1921 to Jesse Randall and Lydia Collins Maggard. She attended Little Daniel School. Vi married the love of her life, Elvin Caudill, January 19, 1946. Their only daughter, Joyce Ann, was born a year later. Joyce was their pride and joy. Vi’s greatest pleasure in life was being a mother as well as a grandmother and great-grandmother. She also loved being a sister, aunt, and friend. Vi had a wonderful, outgoing personality, she never met a stranger, and her love for people was known countywide. She loved helping and doing things for others throughout her lifetime. Viola gave her life to Christ and joined the Mount Olivet Church in Blackey, KY on March 2, 1974. She was a faithful servant of the Lord, enjoyed going to church, and attended every church service while she was residing at Letcher Manor Nursing Home. Vi also enjoyed working with the Ladies’ Auxiliary of the VFW in Whitesburg, KY.
Our world was blessed with Viola for 96 years. She peacefully passed on to her Heavenly home on August 1, 2017 at the Hazard Hospice Care Center, while surrounded by family members.
