February 19, 2010 - Jeanette Webb, 65, of Premium passed away Friday, February 19, 2010 at the Hazard Appalachian Regional Healthcare Center. Jeanette was the daughter of the late Presley Peak. Surviving are her husband: Doug Webb; 3 sons: Douglas Webb of Indiana, Benny Webb of Premium, and Thomas Webb of Premium; 1 daughter: Peggy Roark of Premium; 4 sisters: Judy, Sue, Sherry, and Marilyn; 17 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren on the way. August 15, 2009 - William Donald (Paul) Sexton, 69, of Rockhouse passed away Saturday, August 15, 2009 at the Whitesburg Appalachian Regional Healthcare Center. Paul was the son of the late William Riley and Martha Niece Sexton. Surviving are his wife: Minnie Vae Brock Sexton; children: Donna Jean Sheldon, Diana Sexton, Woodrow Sexton, William Daniel Sexton, and Lisa Vae Sexton; grandchildren: Amanda Diana Berthiaume, William Maverick Shelton (USAF), William Paul Sexton, Michael Ryan Sexton, and Tiffany Moore; great grandchildren: Matthew Tyler Berthiaume and Noah Alexandar Arrowood; sisters: Linda Kay Mayhugh, Minnie Gay Sefton, and Carol Taber. Graveside Service: 1:00 O'clock P.M. Monday, August 17, 2009 at the Sexton Cemetery at Rockhouse with Kenneth Gooch officiating. Visitation: 6:00 - 8:00 P.M. Sunday at his residence at Quillen Fork.  

 

August 9, 2009 - Dempsey Morton, Sr., 68, of Thornton passed away Sunday, August 9, 2009 at his residence.  Dempsey was the son of the late Millard Morton and Claire Hall Gilley. Surviving are his wife: Mary Ann Joseph Morton; 2 sons: Dempsey Morton Jr. of Hazard and Chris Morton of Thornton; 1 daughter: Wanda Taylor of Bean Station, Tennessee; 3 brothers: Jimmy Morton of Goshen, Ohio, Elmo Morton of Loraine, Ohio, and Donnie Morton of Thornton; 9 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren. Funeral: 1:00 O'clock P.M. Thursday, August 13, 2009 at the Letcher Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation: 6:00 P.M. Wednesday at the Letcher Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in the Hall Cemetery at Thornton, Kentucky. 

 

August 8, 2009 - Hattie Mason, 96, of Whitesburg passed away Saturday, August 8, 2009 at the Clark Regional Memorial Hospital in Winchester, Kentucky. Hattie was the daughter of the late Has and Maggie Calhoun Bates. She was the widow of Hubert Mason. Surviving are 2 daughters: Mae Hayes of Covington and Reecy Aldridge of Winchester; 2 sisters: Carrie Bates of Whitesburg and Della Marcum of Littleton, Colorado; other special sister: Pearlie Bates; 7 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren. August 5, 2009 - Hazel Holbrook, 90, of Mayking passed away Wednesday, August 5, 2009 at her residence. Hazel was the daughter of the late Edward and Mae Griffin Stallard. She was the widow of Bennett Holbrook. Surviving are 2 sons: Ronnie L. Holbrook of Greenfield, Indiana and Jack K. Holbrook of Sergent; 2 daughters: Brenda K Stephens of Mayking and Rosalie Gilliam of Premium; 14 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, 6 step great grandchildren. Funeral: 1:00 O'clock P.M.
