Barbara Kaye Collins, 67, of Whitesburg passed away Wednesday, March 27, 2024 at the Whitesburg Appalachian Regional Healthcare Center. Barbara is the daughter of the late Frank and Mellie Tackett Akers. Surviving is her Husband: Dr. Bill Martin Collins of Whitesburg; 2 Sons: Stacy Yates of Jeremiah and Bryan (Kary) Yates of West Virginia; 1 Daughter: Melissa (Jeremy) Johnson of Dorton; 3 Brothers: Paul Akers of Dorton; Bruce Akers of Dorton; Clarence (Caroll) Akers of Dorton; 2 Sisters: Betty Hall of Dorton and Wanda (John Carl) Bailey of West Virginia; 5 Grandchildren: Jacob, Nicolas, Emma, Zachary (Destiny), Kalli. Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 30, 2024 at 1:00 P.M. at the Letcher Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Beth McCrey and Tony Bentley officiating. Visitation will be Friday, March 29, 2024 at 6:00 P.M. at the Letcher Funeral Home Chapel. Entombment will take place at the family cemetery at Dorton at a later date.
