Burl Sexton Obituary

Burl Sexton was born August 31, 1941 in Pinetop, Kentucky to Robert and Lucinda Taylor Sexton. He passed away December 29, 2019 in Whitesburg, Kentucky at the age of 78. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by 4 brothers and 1 sister: George Sexton, Verna Owens, Edward Sexton, Marvin Sexton, and Paul Wendell Sexton.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Marie Sexton and two sons, Mike (Elsie) Sexton and Chris (Crissy) Sexton. He had 8 grandchildren: Michael, Stephanie, Natasha, Andrea, Cassie, Camille, Reece, and Emily; 13 great grandchildren. He is also survived by 2 sisters, Desta Baker and Norma Jean Caudill.

He was a coal miner for many years and a member of Colson Baptist Church.

Funeral: 11:00 O'clock A.M. Friday, January 3, 2020 at the Letcher Funeral Home Chapel with Scottie Amburgey officiating. Visitation: 6:00 P.M. Thursday at the Letcher Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in the Green Acres Cemetery at Ermine, Kentucky.
