Delmar Ray Sergent, 81 of Whitesburg, passed away Thursday, May 2, 2019 at his residence. Delmar was the son of the late William Henry and Ollie Cook Sergent. He was the widower of Bonita "Nedo" Taylor Sergent. Delmar served in the United States Marine Corps from 1956 to 1960 and worked for Ford Motor Company for 30 years. Surviving is 1 son: Delmar R.(Pam) Sergent Jr. of Vermillion, Ohio; 5 daughters: Kayetta(Mike) Atkinson of Vermillion, Ohio, Debbie Brashears of Whitesburg, Melissa(Kenny) Webb of West Virginia, Cheryl(Tim) Caudill of Whitesburg, and Heather(John) Fulton of Whitesburg; 1 brother: Hobert Sergent of Whitesburg; 2 sisters: Emma Bentley of Payne Gap, Lavinia Farley of Indian Creek; grandchildren: Dale Sergent, Christy Braden, Mikey Atkinson, Brittany Musser, Brooke Holbrook, Aaron Tolliver, Chase Brashears, Blake Brashers, Lauren Webb, Hayley Fulton, and Sarah Fulton, and Brittany Webb; 12 great grandchildren; close friend: Stephen Majority. Delmar was preceded in death by 1 grandson: Sean Atkinson; 5 brothers: Carl Sergent, Lester Sergent, Linville Sergent, Bob Sergent, and Henry Sergent; 1 sister: Alkie Sergent. Funeral: 1:00 O'clock P.M. Sunday, May 5, 2019 at the Letcher Funeral Home Chapel with Bill Craft officiating with a Military Service to Follow. Visitation: 6:00 P.M. Saturday at the Letcher Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in the Evergreen Cemetery at Whitesburg, Kentucky.
