Gladys Campbell

Gladys Webb Campbell, 95 of Mayking, KY. Joined the Heavenly Family on 09/07/2019 at Christina Place Assisted Living facility in Franklin, IN.

She was the daughter of William Hartley and Elizabeth Lusk of Ulvah, KY.

Gladys is survived by her son George M. Webb (Margit) of Franklin, IN. and a sister Lilly Faye Campbell of Bronston, KY.  Also surviving are five grandchildren; Christopher Webb of Lake Orion, MI, Hoa Luong of Raleigh, NC, Lisa Morris of Franklin, IN, Tanya Fury of Fredericksburg, VA and Krista Morse of Greenwood, IN.  Also surviving are 15 great-grandchildren; Cory, Brittney, Linda, Daniel, Donald, Judy, Kristyn, Cain, Cody, Jesse, Casey, Teresia, Michael, Julia, and Alexander. She also leaves behind 10 great-great-grandchildren; Maleeah, Kaylynn, Damon, Jackson, Maverick, Tiffany, Landon, Dylan, Asher and Arlyn.

Gladys was preceded in death by her 1st husband Raymond Webb and 2nd husband Homer Campbell; four brothers; William Lusk, Jr, Lester, Ernest and Kermit; seven sisters; Vina, Louisa, Effie, Thursa, Ada, Margaret, and Bobby Jo.

Gladys taught elementary school for 36 years which included starting out in one room schoolhouses where she taught grades 1-8 but spent most of her teaching years with 2nd graders.  She loved teaching children just starting out with the basics. She also enjoyed working in her garden in Mayking and kept the entire family in garden vegetables. She was an avid church goer at the Old Regular Baptist Church in Mayking and was always willing to help others

Visitation: 5:00-9:00 P.M. Friday September 13, 2019 at the Letcher Funeral Home Chapel.

Funeral: 11:00 O'clock A.M. Saturday, September 14, 2019 at the Letcher Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in the Webb Cemetery at Mayking, Kentucky.
