Harold "Hobert" Sergent, age 87 of Indian Creek, passed away on Tuesday, December 24, 2019 at the Whitesburg ARH. He was born on Wednesday, March 30, 1932 in the house where he lived most of his life.
Hobert worked as a coal truck driver for over thirty years, and was a member of the Millstone Missionary Baptist Church. He spent many days at the Colson Community Center and with his friends at Dairy Queen.
Hobert was the son of the late William Henry and Ollie Cook Sergent. He was the widower of June Bentley Sergent.
Surviving Hobert are two sisters, Emma Jean Bentley of Kona and Lavinia Farley of Indian Creek and a host of nieces and nephews.
Hobert was preceded in death by 6 brothers: Carl Sergent, Lester Sergent, Linville Sergent, Bob Sergent, Henry Sergent, and Delmar Sergent; and 1 sister: Alkie Sergent.
Funeral: 12:00 O'clock Noon Saturday, December 28, 2019 at the Letcher Funeral Home Chapel with Bill Craft officiating. Visitation: 6:00 P.M. Friday at the Letcher Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in the Sergent Family Cemetery at Indian Creek, Kentucky.
