James G. Hardin, 70, of Mayking passed away Monday, June 26, 2017 at the Whitesburg Appalachian Regional Healthcare Center. James was the son of the late Gilbert Ray Hardin and Lavada Sturgill Pennell. Surviving is his wife: Denise Mazza Hardin; 1 son: James (Tina) Grayson Hardin of Whitesburg; 2 daughters: Stacy Renee (Clarence) Bryant of Mayking and Anita Denise (Luke) Martin of Whitesburg; 2 brothers: David (Angie) Hardin and Randall Hardin all of McRoberts; 11 sisters: Allie (Danny) Banks of Tennessee, Ernestine (Lonnie) Roberts of Oven Fork, Joanne (Jay) Fields of Cumberland, Rita Eldridge of Cumberland, Janice (Bobby) Lovers of Virgie, Kathy (Leonard0 Hughes of Deane, Linda (Chris) Hempfling of Oklahoma, Christine (Kenny) Hamilton of Venner, Kentucky, Debbie "Anna" Smith of McRoberts, Elaine Mullins of McRoberts, and Lillian Hardin of Oklahoma; 14 grandchildren: Bruce, Megan, Lanise, Savannah, Samantha, Austin, Willie Jo, Shane, Michael, Cara, Nakea, Jacob, Lynda, and Wally; 2 great grandchildren: Eathan and Nashaya. James was preceded in death by 2 sisters: Georgia Niece and Sally Stamper; 1 brother: Finest Hardin. Funeral: 1:00 O'clock P.M. Friday, June 30, 2017 at the Letcher Funeral Home Chapel with Ralph Hall and Loren Sturgill officiating. Visitation: 6:00 P.M. Wednesday and 6:00 P.M. Thursday at the Letcher Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in the Sturgill - Pennell Cemetery at Cowan, Kentucky.
