Jeanette Dollarhide, 84, entered into eternal life on Thursday, August 24, 2017 at 12:30 am. Visitation will be held at Letcher Funeral Home, Whitesburg, Kentucky on Saturday, August 26 at 6 pm. Funeral service will also be held at Letcher Funeral Home on Sunday, August 27 at 1 pm, followed by internment in the Dollarhide Family Cemetery on Big Cowan Creek. Jeanette was born on April 27, 1933 in Oscaloosa, Kentucky to Arthur and Rosa (Caudill) Ison. She married Jim Dollarhide on December 26, 1956. He preceded her in death on June 3, 1983. They raised four sons and one daughter: Travis Wade (Laura) of Straburg, Illinois; James Erwin of Dry Ridge, Kentucky; Thomas Eric, Kingdom Come Creek, Kentucky; Stephen Arthur (Stacy) of Cowan Creek, Kentucky; and Vita Lynn (Bill) Weaver of Bluff City, Tennessee. Jeanette had seven grandchildren: Ellen, Eli, Gideon, Dylan, Logan, Autumn, and Maggie, and step-grandchildren Michael and Danielle. Jeanette was an active member of Cowan Community Homemakers and Premium Baptist Church. She was a talented artist and an avid gardener who had a special touch with orchids and houseplants. Jeanette was a devoted grandma who kept in good touch with her grandchildren, near and far. She was an old-timey cook and famous for her buttermilk biscuits and cornbread. Jeanette was loved deeply by many and will be dearly missed by her family and friends.
