Martha Jane Baker Smith passed away Monday, August 14, 2017 at her residence. Martha Jane was the daughter of Benjamin Franklin Baker and Lillie Elizabeth See Baker of Cumberland, Maryland. She was born August 8th, 1932 being 85 years old at the time of her passing. Martha Jane was the widow of William Douglas Smith Sr. Surviving are 4 children, 2 sons: William Douglas Jr. (Dina) Smith of Barstow, CA., Benjamin Dee Smith Sr. (Danna) of Jeremiah, KY.; 2 daughters: Cherylann (Edward) Banks of Jeremiah, KY> and Pamela Jane Smith of Jeremiah, KY.; 2 sisters: Margaret Joan Ennis of Texas and Emma June Hines of West Virginia; 9 grandchildren: Dallas, Desiree Banks, Jacqueline (Ben) Caudill, Benjamin (Ann) Smith, Elizabeth (Steven) Pratt, Travis Smith (Amber), Kristin, Penny, India Smith; 8 great grandchildren: Hunter, Hannah, Hayden Banks, Logan, Layla, Londyn Caudill, Maggie Audrey Pratt. Martha Jane was preceded in death by daughter: Penny C. Smith and great granddaughter Hailey Madison Banks; 1 brother: Darrell H. Baker. Martha Jane had a very special friend Tracy Riddle whom she loved dearly. Martha Jane was a member of Doermann Memorial Presbyterian Church. Funeral: 1:00 O'clock P.M. Saturday, August 19, 2017 at the Doermann Presbyterian Church with Duane Beachy officiating. Visitation: 6:00 P.M. Friday at the Letcher Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in the Green Acres Cemetery at Ermine, Kentucky.
