Nellie (Cornett) Collins Vance

Nellie Collins Vance, daughter of Celis and Lilie Cornett, was born on May 13, 1937. She entered eternal life on November 27, 2017, being 80 years, 7 months, and 14 days of age at the time of her passing. Nellie was married to Paul Collins, which preceded her in death on August 17, 1979; later, married to Edward Vance, which also preceded her in death. She was a member of the Calvary Temple Church of God on Sandlick. She is survived by one son: Ricky Collins (Ivealue) of Isom, Kentucky and two daughters: Sandra Hammock (Steve) and Shelia Biggerstaff (Ronnie), both from Whitesburg, Kentucky; 4 granddaughters: Holly Hammock, Jerri Fields (Jon), Brandy Collins (Will) and Morgan Biggerstaff Matthews (Rob) and 2 grandsons: Ricky Paul Collins (Karen) and Matthew Hammock. She is also survived by 10 great grandchildren: Hunter Fields, Isabella Fields, Maggie Fields, Lilah Hammock, Olivia Hammock, Mackie Hammock, Cobe Hammock, Sydney Vanover, Sawyer Collins and Cruz Collins. She enjoyed spending time with her special friend, Ruth Gibson, and her dog, Molly, that she loved so much. She was preceded in death by 4 brothers: Paul Cornett, Jimmy Cornett, Gene Cornett, and Mack Cornett; 2 sisters; Barbara Lewis and Christine Shepherd. Also surviving are a host of other relatives, friends and especially her many church friends that she loved so dear. She also leaves behind a host of nieces and nephews to mourn her passing. Funeral: 1:00 O'clock P.M. Wednesday, November 29, 2017 at the Calvary Temple Church of God with Conard Profitt, Donald Enfussee, Bill Craft, and Hunter Fields officiating. Visitation: 6:00 P.M. Tuesday at the Letcher Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in the Collins Cemetery at Colson, Kentucky.
