Roland Cecil Holbrook, 84, of McRoberts, passed away on Monday, September 18, 2017 at the Whitesburg Appalachian Regional Healthcare Center. Born in Thornton, Kentucky, Roland was the son of the late Nick Holbrook and Hazel Sergent Holbrook. He worked as a self-employed plumber. Roland loved to work in his garden, go fishing and he loved going to car races. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife Wilma Jean Shipman Parrott, and companion of many years Millie Bentley; brother Darrel Holbrook. Roland is survived by 3 children: Lisa (Scott) Adams, Susie (Scott) Howard, Timothy (Melanie) Holbrook; 8 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; sister Ramah (Watson) Bentley, brothers Jim (Camilla) and Jack (Phyllis); and several nieces and nephews and friends. Funeral: 2:00 O'clock P.M. Thursday, September 21, 2017 at the Letcher Funeral Home Chapel with Dock Frazier and others officiating. Visitation: 6:00 P.M. - 9:00 P.M. Wednesday at the Letcher Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in the Thornton Cemetery at Thornton, Kentucky.
