Ruby Haynes Caudill age 99, of Carcassonne, Ky., daughter of Will and Katherine Haynes, died peacefully at the Wells Hospice Care Center in Hazard, Ky. on February 19, 2017. She was preceded in death by her husband Clifton Caudill of 65 years, daughter Shelby Jean (Lee) Caudill, her parents, five sisters and three brothers. She is survived by her three sons: Harold (Margaret) of Lexington, Randall (Linda) of Doty Creek, Clifton Jr. (Verna Jean) of Richmond, daughter: Katherine Ann Webb of Lexington; ten grandchildren, twenty great grandchildren, ten great-great grandchildren; a brother: Isom Haynes of Louisville, a sister: Gladys Back of Lexington and many nieces and nephews. She was a devoted wife and her first love and highest priority in life always taking care of her home, her children, and her many grandchildren. She retired as Carcassonne postmistress after 25 years. Alway active in community affairs, both parents loved square dancing and were always involved with any events at the Carcassonne Community Center. She was loved by all who knew her and will be long remembered and greatly missed by family and friends. Funeral: 11:00 O'clock A.M.Saturday, February 25, 2017 at the Letcher Funeral Home Chapel with Elwood Cornett and Jim Fields officiating. Visitation: 6:00 P.M. Friday at the Letcher Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in the Caudill Cemetery at Carcassonne, Kentucky. In lieu of flowers donations are suggested to the Greg and Noreen Wells Hospice Care Center, Carcassonne Community Center, or the James Memorial Church.
