Sue Carol (Webb) Stambaugh

Sue Carol Webb Stambaugh, age 76, of Payne Gap Kentucky passed away peacefully at her home on Monday March 19, 2018 while surrounded by family and friends.Mrs. Stambaugh was born on September 1, 1941 at Seco Kentucky to the late Glenn and Geneva Webb. On May 12, 1959 she married her beloved husband, the late James Russell “Big Jim” Stambaugh in Clintwood Virginia. The two were blessed with six children who Mrs. Stambaugh loved deeply. Sue went on become the Director of Housekeeping at Whitesburg Appalachian Regional hospital, where she retired after 21 years of loyal and dedicated service. Of all her works Sue was most proud of her role as a wife, mother, and “Mamaw”.Mrs. Stambaugh is survived by her sons: James Timothy Stambaugh and wife Pauline of Indianapolis Indiana, and Christopher Todd Stambaugh also of Indianapolis Indiana: two daughters: Deborah Kathleen Anderson and Lorna Maureen Baker and husband Rodney “Hank” all of Clintwood, Virginia, and a granddaughter who she raised as her own, Dana Lee Morris and husband Michael of Hemphill, Kentucky. Sue is also survived by her grandchildren: Aimee, Patricia, Adam, Megan, Bryan, Roxanna, Andrew, Ashley, Michael, and Makala, and great-grandchildren: Keigan, Jae-Leigh, Rayne, Kayden, Kamron, Kainon, Mekynsie, Gage, Timothy, Nathaniel, Jordan, Danyelle, Brayden, and Geneva Sue.Mrs. Stambaugh is also survived by her sister and friend: Donna Jean Slone of Whitesburg Kentucky, and a brother: David Nash Webb of Indiana, along with a host of other relatives and friends to mourn her passing.Besides her husband, Mrs. Stambaugh was preceded in death by two sons: Warren Glenn Stambaugh and Dennis Ray Stambaugh; three grandchildren: Jessica Lea Stambaugh, Phillip Lee Stambaugh, and Isaiah Melik Nixon; four brothers: Edward Dale Webb, Darrell Glenn Webb, Curtis Michael Webb, and Walter Keith Webb; and sister: Edna Marlene Webb-Dunn.Family will receive friends at New Freedom Worship Center, Dunham, Kentucky on Wednesday March 21, 2018 at 12:00 P.M. Special singing at 6:00 P.M. Thursday March 22, 2018. Funeral services will be conducted by Pastor Danny Quillen on Friday March 23, 2018 at 12:00 P.M. Internment will follow in the Whitaker Cemetery at Seco Kentucky.
