Willie Farley

Willie Farley, 77 of Indian Creek, passed away Thursday, March 28, 2019 at the Hazard Appalachian Regional Healthcare Center. 

He was the son of the late Melvin and Vira Farley of Harts, West Virginia. He was born October 5, 1941.

Surviving are his wife: Lavinia Sergent Farley of Indian; 1 son: David Farley (Heather) of Indian Creek; 1 daughter: DeLee Collier (Jason) of Waco, KY.; 1 sister: Jane Carter (Jimmy) of Chapmansville, West VA.; 1 brother: Doug Farley of Harts, West VA.; 1 granddaughter: Alexis Farley and 3 grandsons: Joshua, Colton, and Kaiden Collier along with a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends to mourn his passing.

Willie was preceded in death by 4 sisters: Lucille Mullins, Verdie Maynard, Rachel Farley, and Pearl Johnson; 2 brothers: Howard Adkins and Melvin Farley Jr.

Willie served in the Army from 1967 - 1975. He covered 2 tours in Vietnam and Korea. He was baptized at Millstone Missionary Baptist Church.

Funeral: 1:00 O'clock P.M. Monday, April 1, 2019 at the Letcher Funeral Home Chapel with Jimmy Carter and Joe Banks officiating. Visitation: 2:00 P.M. - 5:00 P.M. Saturday at the Cole Branch Church of Christ in Harts, West Virginia; 6:00 P.M. and Sunday at the Letcher Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in the Sergent Cemetery at Indian Creek, Kentucky.

In lieu of flowers donations are suggested to the Eastern Kentucky Veterans Center Residence Activities Fund.
