Alton Cassel Long, 76 of Ermine, Kentucky passed from this life to the next on December 31, 2020 at the Pikeville Medical Center as a result of complications caused by Covid. Alton was the son of the late Russell and Katie Long. He was born on September 12, 1944, he grew up in Liverpool, PA on the banks of the Susquehanna River, a place that was special to him his whole life. He was a loving husband to his wife Emily (Kolb) Long and caring father to his sons Seth and Luke Long. Alton never knew a stranger, he loved meeting new people and old friends. He was usually exceedingly enthusiastic and animated when talking to people and helping folks out along the way. Most would often remark that Alton was one of the kindest and caring men they had ever met. He was passionate about wood working and the tools of the trade, often occasioning Pennsylvania farm sales to purchase wood, equipment, tools, and other treasures he would put to work or resell. Yet even more than the active life he lived Alton loved Jesus. Now Alton knows no more sin, no more suffering and his faith has been made sight as he is in the eternal presence of his savior.
Alton is survived by his wife Emily Long, his son Seth, husband of Sheryl Long of Ermine KY; his son Luke, husband of Sandi Long of Coventryville, PA and 7 grandchildren who loved their grandpa and 3 great grandchildren.
