Aretta "Charlie" (Thomas) Scott

Aretta "Charlie" Scott, 71 of Cumberland, passed away Saturday, March 9, 2024, at the Whitesburg Appalachian Regional Healthcare Center. Charlie was the daughter of the late Marvin and Susie Slone Thomas. Surviving is her husband: Jimmy Scott; 1 son: Jimmy Scott of Cumberland; 1 daughter: Teresa (William) Bledsoe of Cumberland; honorary daughter: Easter Blanton; 1 brother: Harrison Thomas of Corbin; 4 sisters: Gertrude Davis, Tammy Boggs, Kathy Craft all of Tennessee, and Imogene Smith of Camp Branch; 4 grandchildren: Tyler Bledsoe, Jasper Scott, Sean Bledsoe, and Kylie Bledsoe; 4 great grandchildren: Julian, Teresa, Avery, and Liam along with a host of other relatives and friends to mourn her passing. Charlie was preceded in death by 7 brothers: Vernon Thomas, Orbin Thomas, Billy Ray Thomas, Cody Thomas, Gary Thomas, Ruben Thomas, and Doyle Thomas; 1 sister: Beatrice Slone; step-son: Jeff Scott. A Celebration of Life will be held at 5:00 O'clock P.M. on Sunday, March 17, 2024, at the ECCO Chapel.
