Astor Fields Jr., 72 of Whitesburg, passed away Saturday, January 20, 2024, at the Whitesburg Appalachian Regional Healthcare Center. Astor was the son of the late Astor and Thelma Louise Niece Fields. He was a coal miner for 40 years and an avid deer hunter. His favorite book in the bible was Job. Surviving is his wife: Judy Faye Fields; 1 daughter: Pamela Ann (John) Dawes of Whitesburg; ; 1 brother: Terry Mark (Marcella) Fields of Big Cowan; 1 sister: Brenda Elizabeth (Oliver) Mullins of Eolia; 3 grandchildren: Sierra Leann (Joe) Dollarhyde, Greggory Orion (Casey) Dollarhyde, and John Jordan Dawes; 1 great grandchild: Greydon (Bumbo) Orion along with a host of other relatives and friends to mourn his passing. Astor was preceded in death by 1 son: Astor Grant Fields; 1 sister: Hennrietta Banks. Funeral 11:00 O'clock A.M. Wednesday, January 24, 2024, at the Letcher Funeral Home Chapel with John Conn and Don Mullins officiating. Visitation 6:00 P.M. - 10:00 P.M. Tuesday, January 23, 2024, at the Letcher Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in the Green Acres Cemetery at Ermine, Kentucky.
