Carmel Hampton, 94 of Dry Fork, passed away Saturday, May 9, 2026 at the Greg and Noreen Wells Hospice Center in Hazard, Kentucky. Carmel was the son of the late Irvin and Verna Hampton. He was the widower of Patricia Hampton. Surviving is 2 sons: Nicholas Hampton of Whitesburg, Rodney (Tammy) Hampton of Abingdon, Virginia; 3 daughters: Teresa Hampton of Whitesburg, Anita (Buzz) Bell of Sidney, Ohio and Lisa Hampton of Whitesburg; 1 brother: Orville Hampton of Georgia; 1 sister: Susie Perry of Whitesburg; 9 grandchildren: Vanessa, Alicia, Casey, Tessa, Nichole, Alex, Andrew, Heather and Rusty; 17 great grandchildren. Carmel was preceded in death by his siblings: Bobby Hampton, Larry Hampton, John Hampton, R.V. Hampton and Erva Dean. Funeral: 1:00 O'clock P.M. Wednesday, May 13, 2026 at the Letcher Funeral Home Chapel with Ken Miles officiating. Visitation: 6:00 P.M. Tuesday at the Letcher Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in the Banks Peaceful Hills Cemetery at Ice, Kentucky.
