Claudia Elizabeth Banks, 87 of Whitesburg, passed away Wednesday, February 14, 2024, at the Greg and Noreen Wells Hospice Care Center in Hazard, Kentucky. Claudia was the daughter of the late Fred and Matilda Combs Banks. Surviving is 1 daughter: Pamela Slone of Litcarr; 1 brother: James Banks of California; 1 sister: Lucetta Smith of Michigan; 6 grandchildren: Virginia Lynn Banks, Melissa Williams, Rachel Moore, Matilda (Aaron Ray) Dotson, Adam (Kayla) Slone, and Chanda (Michael) Jent; 9 great grandchildren: Aaron Thomas, Ethan Williams, Kelee Thomas, Dalton Gibson, Adriana Slone, Greyson Kelly, Benjamin Slone, Hadley Skinner, and Kailor Slone; 2 great great grandchildren: Jaxon Williams and Easton Williams along with a host of other relatives and friends to mourn her passing. Claudia was preceded in death by 1 daughter: Ivalean Slone Blair; 4 brothers: Homer Banks, Irvin Banks, Charles Banks, and Orbin Banks; 1 sister: Verneda Owens. Funeral 7:00 O'clock P.M. Friday, February 16, 2024, at the Letcher Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation 6:00 P.M. - 10:00 P.M. Friday, February 16, 2024, at the Letcher Funeral Home Chapel.
