Doris Anne Collins, 94, of Somerset, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, October 4th, 2024. Born in 1929, she was the daughter of Riley Frazier and Anna Taulbee Frazier. She was a graduate of Whitesburg High School and served there as Cafeteria Supervisor for over 21 years. She was an active member and officer in the United Methodist Church of Whitesburg, and later served as an active member in the United Methodist Church of Somerset. Doris was an enthusiastic member of the Daughters of the American Revolution. She was an excellent cook, a loving caregiver of animals, and enjoyed nothing more than spending time with her family and many beloved friends.
She was preceded in death by her dear husband, William “Billy” Paul Collins, her sister, Wilma Prohownik, and her granddaughter, Amanda Collins. Those left to cherish her memory are her four children, Larry Collins (wife Marsha) of Mason, Ohio, Paula Collins (husband Charles) of Somerset, Karen Sauls (husband Billy) of Eureka, North Carolina, and Randy Collins of Whitesburg; grandchildren Paul Collins (wife Jessica), Lauren Yankoff (husband Derek), Heather Stout (husband John), Rachel Goins (husband Randy), Rebecca Thamann (husband Chris), and Savannah Collins; great grandchildren Maddie Yankoff, Leydn Yankoff, Abigal Stout, Vann Yankoff, Braydon Collins, Jack Thamann, Benjamin Rankin, Bradley Stout, Brynna Collins, Brooks Collins, Willow Goins, Knox Thamann, Branson Collins, Luke Goins, Ty Goins, Rory Yankoff, and Wes Thamann. The funeral will be a private ceremony, remembering Doris in the presence of close family. John 11:25-26 says, “I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me, even if he dies, will live, and everyone who lives and believes in me will never die.”
