Gary W. Collins

Gary W. Collins, 85 of Whitesburg, passed away Tuesday, March 11, 2025, at the Whitesburg Appalachian Regional Healthcare Center. Gary was the son of the late Gilmer and Ruby Banks Collins. Surviving is his wife of 60 years: Rita Gibson Collins; 2 sons: Phillip (Samantha) Collins of North Carolina and Kevin Collins of Whitesburg; 1 daughter:: Zola Denise Caudill of Jeremiah; 1 brother: Michael Tyree of Ice; 1 sister: Judi (Gary) Fisher of Michigan; 4 grandchildren: Brittany (Michael) Helton, Bethany (Matthew) Adams, Noah Collins, and Aubree Collins; 5 great grandchildren: Aleeah Helton, Aria Helton, Weston Helton, Brenden Adams, and Brenley Adams along with a host of other relatives and friends to mourn his passing. Gary was preceded in death by 2 brothers: Glen Collins and Bill (Linda) Collins; sister in law: Debbie Tyree. Gary will be missed for his kindness, his love of family, his love of nature with his gentle soul. He was one of a kind and we will carry him forever in our hearts. Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 O'clock P.M. on Thursday, March 13, 2025, at the Letcher Funeral Home Chapel with Tony Brown officiating. Burial will follow in the Banks Peaceful Hills at Ice, Kentucky. Visitation will be held from 6:00 P.M. - 10:00 P.M. on Wednesday, March 12, 2025, at the Letcher Funeral Home Chapel.
