Helen Jean (Richardson) Stambaugh

Helen Jean Stambaugh, 85, of Flatwoods, KY, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, February 8, 2026.

Mrs. Stambaugh was born January 10, 1941, in Thornton, KY. She is the daughter of the late Dicy Richardson and Clay Richardson. Along with her parents, she is also preceded in death by her husband, Robert Stambaugh Sr.; her daughter, Deanna J. Steele and eight siblings.

Mrs. Stambaugh was a God fearing Christian woman who had always kept to her faith. The church she had attended was Grace Baptist in Flatwoods. She was very loved by not only her family but her church members and members of her community.

Mrs. Stambaugh is survived by her two sons, Robert Stambaugh Jr. and Russell Clay Stambaugh; six grandchildren, J.J. Martin, Jean Stambaugh, Eric McBroom, Robert T. Stambaugh, Angela Martin and Russell Joseph Stambaugh; eleven great grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews and extended family.

A visitation for Mrs. Stambaugh will be held on Thursday, February 12, 2026, at Evans Funeral Home in Raceland from 5:30pm to 8:00pm.

A visitation on Friday, February 13, 2026, at Letcher Funeral Home in Whitesburg, KY, from 5:00pm to 8:00pm. The funeral will be held on Saturday, February 14, 2026, at Letcher Funeral Home at 1:00pm. Burial will follow at Whitaker Cemetery in Seco, KY.
