Herman Crase Obituary

Herman Crase, 84 of Letcher, passed from this life to his Heavenly home on January 18, 2021.

A devoted husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and great great grandfather to his loving family who cherished him.

He was also a loving brother, brother-in-law, and uncle.

He was also a cherished member of the Masons and Eastern Stars.

Herman was born on April 12, 1936. The son of George and Nora Crase.

He married Mantie Eldridge on January 15, 1955. she was the love of his life. They were married 60 years and 4 days. They were soulmates. She preceded him in death on January 19, 2015.

Herman was employed by Pepsi for many years before returning to Kentucky later in life. 

Those left to cherish his memory are his two daughters: Marlene Batt and Maretta (Danny) Smith. His grandchildren: Anna (Tim) Saxton, T.J. Caudill (Rebekah Ann Hogan), and Rebecca (Chris) Collins; 3 great grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren.

Also surviving are his siblings: Frances (Del) Everidge, Toby (Kathy) Crase and Tom Crase; sister-in-laws: are Helen Crase, Martha Crase, Oma Jo Branson and Ersley Eldridge. 

Also surviving are several cousins, nieces, nephews and special friends.

Herman was preceded in death by his parents George and Nora Crase; infant daughter: Darlene  May; his wife: Mantie Crase; also brothers and sisters: Glen, Dania, Lutichia, Lee, and George. 

Funeral: 12:00 O'clock P.M. Wednesday, January 20, 2021 at the Letcher Funeral Home Chapel with Danny Dixon officiating. Visitation: 11:00 A.M. Wednesday at the Letcher Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in the Crase Family Cemetery at Letcher, Kentucky.
