Irene (Brown) Pratt

Mary Irene Pratt, 90 of Blackey, passed away Tuesday, December 31, 2024, at the Whitesburg Appalachian Regional Healthcare Center. Irene was the daughter of the late Wendell and Maggie Sorrell Brown. She was the widow of Bemis Pratt. Surviving are her children: Paula Pratt of Blackey, Rita (Rick) Richardson of Cornettsville, Steve (Barb) Pratt of Hallie, Lisa Walters of Blackey, Shelia (Jr) Ison of Hallie, and David (Sarah) Pratt of Cornettsville; child that she loved as her own: John Morton; special fur baby: Lucy; also surviving is her beloved twin sister: Christine Whitaker; grandchildren: Daniel Shepherd, Mary Caudill, Steven Pratt, Johnathan Pratt, Victoria Richardson, Billie Joe Stidham, Juna Fuller, and Ryan Morton; 15 great grandchildren along with a host of other relatives and friends to mourn her passing. Irene was preceded in death by a son in law: Ralph Walters; 1 sister: Pauline Hampton; 1 grandson: Travis Morton. Funeral Services will be held on Friday, January 3, 2025, at 1:00 O'clock P.M. at the Mt. Olivet Old Regular Baptist Church with Danny Dixon, Elwood Cornett, and Jim Fields officiating. Burial will follow in the Brown-Sorrell Cemetery at Blackey, Kentucky. Visitation will be held from 6:00 P.M. - 10:00 P.M. Thursday, January 2, 2025, at the Letcher Funeral Home Chapel.
