James Chester Mayes, 62 of Mt. Vernon, Ohio, passed away Saturday, January 4, 2020 at the Pikeville Medical Center. James was the son of James R. and Mary Lou Baker Mayes of Ohio. Surviving other than his parents is his loving wife: Deborah Ann Baker Mayes; 1 son: Joshua (Krissy) Mayes of Ohio; 1 sister: Susan (Eugene) Bell of Mt. Vernon; 3 grandchildren: Reed Mayes, Myles Mayes, and Kara Mayes; brother-in-law: Virgil Baker of Colson; 2 sisters-in-law: Regina Watkins of North Carolina and Mary Baker of Dunlap, Tennessee.
