Janice Sue (Ison) Whitaker

Janice Sue Whitaker, 83 of Dry Fork, passed away Thursday, February 13, 2025 at the Whitesburg Appalachian Regional Healthcare Center.

Janice was the daughter of the late Navire Ison and Grace Cornett.

Janice was the widow of Bobby Ray Whitaker.

Surviving are 1 son: Jeffrey Whitaker of Dry Fork; 4 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; 3 brothers: Gary Brown of Whitesburg, Randy Frazier of Whitesburg and Tony Brown of Connersville, Indiana; 3 sisters: Barbara Lawson of Dryden, Virginia, Rita Worden of Huntingburg, Indiana and Lois Lykins of Brookeville, Indiana along with a host of other relatives and friends to mourn her passing.

Janice was preceded in death by her father: Navire Ison; mother: Grace Cornett; husband: Bobby Ray Whitaker; 1 daughter: Denisa Whitaker; 1 son: Gregory Whitaker; 1 brother: Terry Brown; 1 sister: Sharon Anderson; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral: 12:00 O'clock Noon Sunday, March 2, 2025 at the Letcher Funeral Home Chapel with Bill Craft officiating. Visitation: 6:00 P.M. Saturday at the Letcher Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in the Kingdom Come Cemetery at Kingdom Come, Kentucky.
