Jerry Fields, son of the late Isaac and Patty Fields was born in Cumberland, Kentucky August 25, 1946. He entered eternal life Sunday, May 1, 2022 at Pikeville Medical Center being 75 years, 8 months and 6 days of age at the time of his passing. Jerry was preceded in death by his adoring parents, and dear siblings, Janie Fields Miles and James Isaac “Jimmy” Fields. Jerry served in the United States Army as an ammunition specialist. He worked as a Letcher County Deputy Sheriff and in strip mining for several years. Jerry also served as Constable in District 1 for twenty-one years. He worked in security and for the City of Whitesburg later in life. Jerry enjoyed his work with others through these endeavors and was known by many, but the job he loved most was raising his children, being a good father, and grandfather. Jerry is survived by his loving wife of fifty years, Nell Meade Fields, and six children: Holly (Jason) Boggs of Cowan, KY; Jerry (Cassie) Fields Jr. of Richmond, KY; Patty (Blake) Robinson of Paris Crossing, IN; Mia (Michael) Thomas of Mount Washington, KY; Isaac (Whitney) Fields of Whitesburg, KY; and Benjamin (Angie) Fields of Cowan, KY. Also surviving are 18 grandchildren, who he is very proud of, Eric, Skye, Brandon, Briar, Olivia, Allison, Ashton, Blake Jr., Jerry III, George, Dicey, Ned, Christena Nell, Mance, Ophira, Daphney, Hueston, and Avivah; one great grandchild Soren; and a host of other relatives and friends to mourn his passing.
