Jerry was a recognized drill operator in the coal mines for 35 years, a job he loved and hated when he was no longer able to work. When he wasn't working he spent time with his family and friends. He loved taking long drives, seeing the wildlife, and the beautiful scenery that our area has to offer. He would get so giddy if he saw something that he hadn't seen in a while. HE loved going to all the old places where he grew up and seeing how things had changed, and he loved to show us and tell us all about it. He was a jokester, he loved to make people laugh, and if he picked on you, he liked you. He loved to laugh and to make people laugh.
Jerry's family was his life. He got so much joy from spending time with his family and friends. He looked forward to days or weekends when he was spending time with his family. His grandkids were the absolute joy of his life. He loved them dearly. Family meant everything to him. He was so protective over all his family. He always tried to take care of us all and make sure we always had what we needed. He even included his bonus kids and grandkids in that he wanted to make sure they were always okay.
