Jewel Boggs Crase was born on February 23, 1929 in Kingscreek, KY, and passed from this earth on November 11, 2020, in her home in Cowan, KY, at the age of 91. Jewel is survived by three daughters: Mildred Hogg (Junie) of Whitesburg, Paula Day (David) of Cowan, and Candace Spangler (Craig) of Maysville, KY. Also surviving Jewel are six grandchildren: April Frazier (Brian), Brandi Anderson (Kris), Amber Surber (Anthony), Allison Maxey (Mike), Lindsay Spangler, and Andrew Spangler (Cristi). Also surviving are six great grandchildren: Olivia Frazier, Zoey Frazier, Lillee Hall, Kynslee Surber, Nate Maxey, and Sloane Anderson. Jewel was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend to all. Jewel enjoyed spending her time with family and friends on her front porch and especially enjoyed seeing and spending time with her beloved grandchildren and great grandchildren. Jewel was known for her cooking; her fried chicken, gravy and biscuits, made from scratch pies, and so many other special dishes and meals were always delicious and always made with great love. Jewel loved the Lord and loved to attend church and fellowship with her brothers and sisters in Christ. She loved to worship the Lord and is most assuredly resting in His hands. She was proud to belong to the Old Regular Baptist Church and was baptized as a believer in 1984. Jewel was married to Dorsey Crase on June 26, 1948 who preceded her in death on March 14, 1992. Jewel was also preceded in death by her infant daughter, Penny Crase, her father, Harrison Boggs, Sr., her mother, Ora Boggs, and 10 brothers and 2 sisters.
