Joel "Flash" Sturgill

Joel Edward "Flash" Sturgill, 69 of Neon, passed away Sunday, January 19, 2025 at his residence. Joel was the son of the late Chester and Helen Cress Sturgill. Surviving is 2 sons: Jeremy Bryant of McRoberts and Joshua Sturgill of Neon; 2 brothers: Wade Sturgill of Hazard and Billy Sturgill of McRoberts ;  2 sisters: Nancy Hall of Middlesboro and Betty Gross of Cowan; grandchildren: Jonathon Bowling, Haleigh Vance, Justin Bryant, Jesse Bryant, Kaleigh Sturgill, Jocelyn Bryant and Jeffrey Sturgill. Joel was preceded in death by 5 sisters:  Dorothy Sturgill, Peggy Davis, Phyllis Brown, Shirley Duty and Helen Shepherd; 2 brothers: Charles Sturgill and Ricky Sturgill. Funeral: 2:00 O'clock P.M. Wednesday, January 22, 2025 at the Letcher Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation: 6:00 P.M. Tuesday at the Letcher Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in the Green Acres Cemetery at Ermine, Kentucky.
