John Christopher Reynolds was born January 10, 1971 at Whitesburg Appalachian Regional Hospital in Whitesburg, KY. He died on Monday, January 6, 2020 at his home in Orlando, FL.
John is the son of James Lewis and Wanda Rodgers Reynolds, formerly of Whitesburg, KY. He is a graduate of Whitesburg High School and Eastern Kentucky University where he majored in Police Administration. John served in the US Army, prior to beginning his career as a police officer. John served four years with the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office in Lexington KY followed by almost 17 years of service with the Winter Park Police Department in Winter Park, FL. John retired in 2019 as a Master Police Officer having worked in patrol, as a detective, and most recently, a school resource officer.
John is a loyal and faithful husband, father, son, brother and friend. He is also a devoted Whitesburg Yellowjacket and Kentucky Wildcat.
John is survived by his wife, Aurea Middleton, his daughter Ava Elizabeth Reynolds and son William Henry Reynolds. He is also survived by his father James L. Reynolds; “the sisters” Donna Reynolds, Ramona Reynolds-Netto (Paulo), Suzy Heinbockel (John); two brothers Birt (Scali) and Rodger (Melissa); nine nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and scores of friends who mourn his passing.
John is preceded in death by his mother Wanda Rodgers Reynolds, his maternal grandparents Clel and Lucille Rodgers, his paternal grandparents Joe and Irene Reynolds, and one uncle, Buz Rodgers.
John will be buried in a private ceremony at the Hall Cemetery in Ermine, KY.
