Joyce Ann (Sparks) Niece

Joyce Ann Sparks Niece, 73 of Whitesburg, passed away Friday, October 30, 2020, at the Pikeville Medical Center. Joyce was the daughter of the late Bill and Blanche Sturgill Sparks. Surviving is her husband: Chester Niece; 2 sons: Darrel (Linda) Niece of Jackson and Lee (Penny) Niece of Anderson, Indiana; 3 daughters: Teresa (Gary) Robinson of Jackson, Andra (Denny) Adams of Danville, and Michelle (Eric) Grate of Danville; 1 brother: Jimmy Sparks of Okeechobee, Florida; 4 sisters: Freedia Reals of Port Saint Lucie, Florida, Judy Stapleton of Fort Pierce, Florida, Linda Talley of Sylva, North Carolina, and Debbie Sparks of Fort Pierce, Florida; grandchildren: Patrick Niece, Danielle Forker, Jennifer Neace, Stephanie Robinson, Megan Singleton, Zachary Niece, Noah Adams, McKenzie Adams, and Riley Coulter; step grandchildren: Ross Grate, Ryan Grate, Savannah Grate, Keenan Blair, Kyle Blair, Lindsey Wolfe, and Dakota Fugate along with a host of great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews to mourn her passing. Joyce was preceded in death by a grandson: Justin Adams; a brother: Elwood Gray. "Joyce was the rock of her family. Her laugh and smile lit up any room. She loved people with her food. Her biscuits, cocoa gravy, and famous fudge were better than anyone else's. She had a quick wit and a strong will. To her, family meant everything. She loved her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren fiercely. The only thing stronger than her heart was her faith." Funeral: 12:00 O'clock Noon Tuesday, November 3, 2020 at the Franks Creek Church with John L. Collins officiating. Visitation: 5:00 P.M. Sunday at the Franks Creek Church. Burial will follow in the J.D. Maggard Cemetery at Eolia, Kentucky.
