Juanita “Fay” Nunley Slone, age 78, of Lawrenceburg, Kentucky and formerly of Haymond, Kentucky, went home to be with her Lord from her earthly residence on Saturday, January 10, 2026. She was born in Fleming, Kentucky on January 18,1947 to the late Carl E. Nunley and the late Mandy Yeary Nunley.
She loved her Lord and was also deeply devoted to her family. Fay was a hard worker, embodied good values and enjoyed serving the needs of others. She felt complete when she was enjoying her family and busy being productive. Her faith and family meant the most to her. She will be remembered for her love, gentle smile and kindness.
Other than her parents, Fay was preceded in death by: her husband, Carlus Slone; three sisters: Patricia Carlene Nunley (Infant), Lucille Hayes and Sarah E. Quillen; nine brothers: Lowell Thomas Nunley (Infant), Allen Burgess Nunley (Infant), James E. Nunley, Thomas J. “Lawrence” Nunley, William Clarance Nunley, Franklin D. Nunley, Clyde D. Nunley, Spencer R. Nunley and Edward Gail Nunley.
She is survived by: one daughter: Pamela Lynn (late, Gary) Johnson of Cornettsville, KY.; three sons: Carlus Eugene (Brandy) Slone of Ermine, KY., Rodney Shawn (Leah) Slone of Lawrenceburg, KY. and Jeffery Darian (Deana) Slone of Versailles, KY.; twelve grandchildren: Amber, Jarrad, Chris, Charity, Emiley, Leanna, Abbigail, Trinity, Darian, Ally, Austin and Makayla; twelve great grandchildren: William, Eli, Christian, Julian, Emma, Lilly, Grayson, Jesse, Gunnar, Mia, Ryder and Elijah ; a special friend: Gerald Cornish; several extended family members and a host of other friends and family to miss and celebrate her.
We wish to express appreciation to Jarrad, Lisa and Jesse for the home of love, joy and care they provided for mom in her last years.
Funeral: 2:00 O'clock P.M. Saturday, January 17, 2026 at the Letcher Funeral Home Chapel with Jeff Slone and Darian Slone officiating. Visitation: 1:00 P.M. Saturday at the Letcher Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in the Green Acres Cemetery at Ermine, Kentucky.
