Kester "Rusty" Halcomb, Jr. born August 24, 1951 went home to bee with the Lord on February 22, 2025 at home with his wife and sister-in-law by his side. Kester was born in Harlan to the late Kester Sr. and the late Annie Ruth Hall Halcomb. Kester gave his life to the Lord at the age of 14 years old and was a member of the Big Leatherwood First Baptist Church for 59 years. Kester was a Deacon of the Church, song leaders and Sunday School Teacher when needed. He was a retired mine foreman and dispatcher for Scotia Coal Company.
Kester is survived by his wife of 55 years, Thelma. Also surviving is his uncle Carter Hall and wife Quinna, his special sister-in-law Brenda Collier, who has helped take care of him during his illness. Also surviving is a host of cousins, family members and friends.
Visitation will be Tuesday, February 25, 2025 at the Big Leatherwood First Baptist Church at Delphia, Kentucky from 5:00 P.M. - 9:00 P.M., with singing and a mess from Pastor Eddie Williams. Funeral Service will be Wednesday, February 26, 2025 at 12:00 O'clock P.M. with Pastor Eddie Williams officiating.
Burial will follow in the Whispering Pines Cemetery at Delphia, Kentucky.
