Larry Roark Obituary

Larry Roark, age 80, of Kingscreek, passed away Thursday, February 5, 2026, at his residence. He was the son of the late James and Lula Cox Roark.

Larry was a devoted husband to Pamela Combs Roark, with whom he shared 45 years of loving marriage. He is survived by his three sons, Travis Roark (Elsa) of the Philippines; Timothy Roark (Tracie) of Indiana; and Christopher Roark (Amanda) of Indiana. He also leaves behind six cherished grandchildren, Aeriale, LaKeshia, Josh, Tiffany, Taylor (Taylore), and Tara (Ryan), along with eight great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his sister, Sandy Hogg.

Larry worked many years as a coal miner and was a faithful member of Kingscreek Community Church, where he taught Sunday School and Wednesday night Bible Study. He shared his faith through music as a musician and songwriter and was a proud Mason. Larry loved to travel, enjoyed grilling for family and friends—often calling himself a “stove monkey”—and never met a stranger. Well known for his love of conversation, he had a special gift for turning strangers into friends. Among family and friends, his famous sage’s stew was legendary and will always be remembered as a symbol of his warmth and generosity.

Funeral services for Larry will be held Thursday, February 12, 2026 at the Kingscreek Community Church starting at 1:00 P.M. with Jimmy Dotson officiating. Visitation will begin 6:00 P.M. Wednesday, February 11, 2026 at the Kingscreek Community Church. Burial will follow in the Roark Cemetery at Kingscreek.
