Lavada (Whitaker) Cornett

Lavada, 87, of Hallie Kentucky, passed away at her home Saturday, July 13, 2024.

Lavada was the daughter of the late R.B and Lista Whitaker of Hallie.

Lavada is survived by two sisters, Wanda Ramsey and Ethel Baker; one brother, Ova Whitaker (Sandra); four daughters, Carol Cornett, Dwana Bentley, Vivian (Charlie) Brinson and Delisa Cornett; eleven grandchildren, Edwin Bentley (Angie), Neil Perkins (Shirlyn), Erica Grant (Bartley), Russel Banks (Julie), Ryan Banks (Amanda), Heather Hall, Holly Bentley, Whitney Porter, Brooke Baker (Kyle), Brandy Porter (Tyler), and Zack Cornett; fifteen great-grandchildren, Daniel, Dylan, Keegan, Christian, Jacob, Abby, Reagan, Owen, Marron, Jamie, Abel, Jase, Kylee, Nolan and Hallie; three great great-grandchildren, Taylor, Paisley and Mabel.

Lavada was preceded in death by: Filmore “Dood” Cornett, husband; three sisters, Euna Mae Whitaker, Mary Holcomb, Inus Whitaker; daughter, Kathy Perkins; grandson, Jamie Perkins; son-in-law Daniel Bentley; two nieces, Shelia Hurt and Elaine Smith.

Granny Tade has gifted all her family, friends and neighbors with wonderful memories; continue to enjoy the meals, card games, fishing and special times together.

Services: Visitation July, 15, 2024 1:00 -2:00PM, Funeral 2:00 PM at Letcher Funeral Home with Danny Dixon officiating. Burial will follow in the Whitaker Cemetery at Hallie.
