Linda Lawson Obituary

Linda K. Lawson, 73, of UZ, Kentucky, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 20, 2026, at Tug Valley ARH Regional Medical Center in Pike County, Kentucky, following a battle with congestive heart failure.

Linda was the beloved daughter of the late Arthur Mitchell Lawson and Cassie Ellen Lawson and was the last surviving child of fourteen siblings. Family was deeply important to Linda, and she carried the stories and memories of her large family with her throughout her life.

Linda had a remarkable and diverse work history. She worked at the Burger Stop alongside family, later served as an accountant at the Appalshop, and worked at the Scotia Coal Mines during 1981—a time when it was uncommon for women to work in the coal mines. Her strong work ethic, determination, and willingness to take on challenges were hallmarks of her life.

In her quieter moments, Linda found joy in reading, studying the Civil War, researching family history, dancing, and listening to good music. She loved learning, sharing stories.

Linda is survived by her children, Jennifer Roberts and Briton Halcomb; her grandchildren, Rebecca Cook, Theodosia Roberts, Cedric Roberts, and McKenna Halcomb; and her great-grandchildren, Valadosia Smith, Xavier Smith, Rhiannon Cook, Roseanna Cook, Haddie Roberts; along with many nephews, nieces, and cousins. Linda will be remembered for her strength, her curiosity, her love of family, and the warmth she shared with everyone who knew her. Her memory will live on in the hearts of friends, extended family, and all who were touched by her life. Services to be announced.
