Lindell Dale "Cigar" Sturgill, 81 of Deane, passed away Monday, December 29, 2025 at his residence. Cigar was the son of the late Wallace and Martha Banks Sturgill. He was the widower of Linda Bentley Sturgill.  Surviving is 1 son: Landis (Amanda) Bentley of Deane; 1 daughter: Stephanie (Arthur) Short of Jackhorn; 1 brother: Bruce Sturgill of Colson; 2 sisters: Nevada Brewer of Hazard and Barbara Jean Thomas of Smoot Creek; 4 grandchildren: Linsey, Mindy, Michael Landon and Baileigh; special friends: Tonya and Tim. Cigar was preceded in death by 1 brother: Lucky Dennis Sturgill; 1 sister: Geneva Sturgill; 1 niece: Monica Sturgill. Funeral: 7:00 O'clock P.M. Thursday, January 1, 2026 at the Letcher Funeral Home Chapel with Chris Dool officiating. Visitation: 6:00 P.M. Thursday at the Letcher Funeral Home Chapel.
