Lonnie Adams, 75 of Jeremiah, passed away Friday, October 3, 2025 at the Pikeville Medical Center. Lonnie was the son of Alice Adams of Blackey and the late George M. "Hogeye" Adams Jr. Surviving other than his mother is his wife: Claudette Back Adams of 54 years; 2 daughters; Michele (Eddie) Caudill of Blackey and Marsha (Jason) Holcomb of Whitesburg; 5 grandchildren: Austin (Brookelyn) Caudill, Paige (Levi) Bolen, Luke Holcomb, Tori Holcomb and Kara Holcomb; 2 great grandchildren: Ella Bolen and Jude Caudill; 2 brothers: Deeb Adams of Letcher and Gary Dean Adams of Blackey; 4 sisters: Joy Back of Letcher, Madge Caudill of Letcher, Yvonne Dixon of Blackey and Darlene Spears of Blackey. Lonnie was preceded in death by his father George M. "Hogeye" Adams Jr., and brother Earl Dean "Spivey" Deaton. Lonnie was a loving brother, father, grandfather and husband to Claudette of 54 years. He was an avid outdoorsman and shared that love with his family. He also loved sports, whether it be watching his daughters and then grandchildren, or coaching. He instilled the values of integrity, respect and hard work in everyone he met, whether it be the 41 years working in the coal mines, or his time at Lowe's post-retirement. Mostly, he enjoyed his family, especially his grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Funeral: 11:00 O'clock A.M. Monday, October 6, 2025 at the Letcher Independent Baptist Church with Bill Jones officiating. Visitation: 6:00 P.M. - 9:00 P.M. Sunday at the Letcher Independent Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the Burton Hill Cemetery at Letcher, Kentucky.
