Lyvonne Kay Collier of Whitesburg, Kentucky passed away on Saturday, July 4, 2026, at the Pikeville Medical Center in Pikeville, Kentucky. Lyvonne "Kay" was the daughter of the late Cecil Martin and Jean Martin of Democrat, Kentucky. Lyvonne was the wife of the late Cleve Collier of Whitesburg, Kentucky. They were married for 45 years. She was born December 18, 1946, making her 79 years, 6 months, 2 weeks, and 2 days at the time of her passing. Surviving Lyvonne are her two daughters: Amy (Johnnie) Davidson of Hazard, Kentucky and Andrea (Shad) Owens of Pikeville, Kentucky; three grandchildren: Andrew Davis Owens, Ella Kathleen Owens, and Emma Raiann Davidson; two sisters: Lynn Bates (Jeff) of Colson, Kentucky and Shelia Arnett (Larry) of Berea, Kentucky, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends who will mourn her passing. In addition to her parents and husband, Lyvonne was preceded in death by a beloved sister and brother in law: Shirley Martin Bentley (Larry) of Deane, Kentucky. Lyvonne affectionately known as "Kay" was an elementary school teacher in the Letcher County School District for 35 years, a profession she loved, always remembering the names of former students over the years. She enjoyed traveling, especially beach vacations with family and road trips with friends, University of Kentucky basketball, reading, and spending time with her much-adored grandchildren, family, and friends. A Christian, she attended the Millstone Missionary Baptist Church for over 40 years. "I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith." II Timothy 4:7. Funeral Services for Kay will be held at 1:00 O'clock P.M. on Wednesday, July 8, 2026, at the Letcher Funeral Home Chapel with Bill Craft and Joe Banks officiating. Burial will follow in the Isom Cemetery at Isom, Kentucky. Visitation will be held from 6:00 P.M. - 10:00 P.M. on Tuesday, July 7, 2026, at the Letcher Funeral Home Chapel.
