Manuel Dean Whitaker, 75 of Jeremiah, passed away Wednesday, May 3, 2023, at the Greg & Noreen Wells Hospice Center. Manuel was the son of the late Venson and Ora Watts Whitaker. Manuel is survived by his wife Margarette Hampton Whitaker, 2 Sons: Frederick Whitaker of Jeremiah, Michael Melton of Whitesburg; 1 Daughter: Dewana Gay of Jackson; 1 Brother: Rick Whitaker of Hallie; 4 Sisters: Grethel Dosh Fields of Hallie, Freda Combs of Carcassonne, Gertrude Maggard of Cowan, Mary Collins of Cornettsville; 8 Grandchildren: Ethan, Hunter Chase, Jayce, Olivia, Bryson, Addalynn, Travis, Brandi. He was preceded in death by 2 Brothers: Venon Whitaker, Denzil Whitaker. Funeral 1:00 O'Clock P.M. Sunday, May 7, 2023, at Cedar Grove Church with Toby Breeding, Roy Slone, Mike Melton, Danny Dixon, Elwood Cornett and Jim Fields Officiating. Visitation 6:00 O'Clock P.M. Saturday, May 6, 2023, at The Letcher Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in the Whitaker Family Cemetery at Hallie.
