Margaret Laverne (Johnson) Amburgey

Margaret Amburgey, 89 of Whitesburg, passed away Tuesday, January 30, 2024 at the Greg and Noreen Wells Hospice Center in Hazard, Kentucky. Margaret was the daughter of the late William and Bithie Ellen Wilson Johnson. She was the widow of Estyle Amburgey. Surviving is 4 sons: William Amburgey, Robert Amburgey, Jerry Amburgey and Mark Amburgey; 2 daughters: Vernisa Amburgey and Veronica Sexton; special granddaughters: Brandi Thomas and Shianne Sexton along with a host of other grandchildren and great grandchildren. Margaret was preceded in death by 1 son: Barry Amburgey; 1 grandson: Richard Amburgey; 1 great granddaughter: Loralei Lee Bell and a host of brothers and sisters. Funeral: 1:00 O'clock P.M. Friday, February 2, 2024 at the Letcher Funeral Home Chapel with Jerry Amburgey and Cody Thomas officiating. Visitation: 6:00 P.M. Thursday at the Letcher Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in the Madden and Johnson Cemetery at Isom, Kentucky.
