Mattie Lou Back

Mattie Lou (Caudill) Back, the daughter of the late Artie and Dewey Caudill, passed away on Monday, May 6, 2024 at the Letcher Manor Nursing Home surrounded by her loving family. Mattie was 85 years, 7 months and 7 days of age at the date of her passing. She is preceded in death by her late husband of 49 years, Edwin Back and one daughter, Artie Darlene Back.

She is survived by one daughter, Alma Rose Blair and five sons, Timothy Joseph back and his wife Mary Jane, Edward Allen Back and his wife Robyn, and Darryn (Hippie) Back all of Jeremiah, Kentucky. Tommy (Shakey) Back and his partner Sharon Cole of Eolia, Kentucky. Adrian (Boo) Back and his husband Mark Netherly of Parrish, Florida.

She is survived by nine Grand Children. Christy Duke-Kinkaid, Teresa Rose Johnson and her husband Billy, Thelma Rebecca Bowling and her husband Elmer, Blake Edward Back, Bailey Elizabeth Darlene Wright and her husband Jacob, Alice Paige Adams and her partner Jeffrey, Colelissa Danielle Back-Netherly, Leelynn Foster Back-Netherly and Bella Rena Back-Netherly.

She is also survived by 23 Great Grand Children and 1 Great-Great Grand Child.

Mattie lived all her life in Kentucky, mostly in Jeremiah. She was loving and caring mother, who worshipped her children and enjoyed all her grand kids. She loved attending church at Faith
Independent Baptist Church and Jeremiah Missionary Baptist Church. She taught Sunday school for many years and sang in the choir.

She will missed by her family and host of friends, all of who loved her dearly.

Funeral: 12:00 O'clock Noon, Thursday, May 9, 2024 at the Blair Branch Church with Danny Dixon, Roy Slone and Toby Breeding officiating. Visitation: 6:00 P.M. Wednesday at the Blair Branch Church. Burial will follow in the Edwin Back Cemetery at Jeremiah, Kentucky
